Students Enrolled in the Final Year Who Want to Receive Pedagogical Formation

BURDUR MEHMET AKİF ERSOY UNIVERSITY 2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR SPRING SEMESTER PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION EDUCATION PROCEDURES AND PRINCIPLES FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FINAL YEAR
1. Students from faculties/colleges/conservatories in fields where pedagogical formation education can be taken, other than the faculties that train teachers as stated in the Ministry of National Education Board of Education and Discipline's "Teaching Fields, Appointment and Teaching Principles" dated 20/02/2014 and numbered 9, will be able to receive pedagogical formation education.
2. Students in the faculties/colleges/conservatories programs defined in the first article only those at the graduation stage will be able to take elective courses within the scope of pedagogical formation education from the Spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
3. The ECTS of the Pedagogical Formation Education courses will not be included in the total ECTS credits (240 ECTS / 300 ECTS) of the courses that are part of the curriculum of the program the student is enrolled in and are a graduation requirement.
4. For graduation; the total ECTS credits of students in programs with a 4-year undergraduate education and training period who take Pedagogical Formation Education will not be less than 280, and for students in programs with a 5-year undergraduate education and training period, the total ECTS credits will not be less than 340.
5. The ECTS credits of the Pedagogical Formation Education courses opened for students at the graduation stage in the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year will be excluded from the maximum total ECTS credits that can be taken in one semester within the framework of the education and training exam regulations in force at our University.
6. The work and transactions related to the Pedagogical Formation courses covering students at the graduation stage will be carried out in accordance with the table below.

7. In accordance with the decision taken by the Higher Education Council for the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year, all theoretical courses will be conducted through distance education, and the Teaching Practice course will be conducted face-to-face.
8. From the Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year, the number of students who can take the teaching practice course will be determined based on the number of practice teachers who can be assigned for the teaching practice course in the fields of teaching that are essential for appointment by the Ministry of National Education and the number of university teaching staff who will conduct the course. The ranking of students applying for the teaching practice course will be based on their GPA within the determined quota.
9. The credits of the elective courses taken and passed within the scope of pedagogical formation education will be added to the total ECTS credits of the courses in the student's curriculum, reflected in the transcript, and will affect the weighted GPA.
10. Students who take pedagogical formation education courses as elective courses but do not complete all of them will only have the courses they took and passed listed on their transcript.
11. For the statement "Completed Pedagogical Formation Education" to be included on the student's diploma, all courses (including the Teaching Practice course, totaling 40 ECTS) must be successfully completed.
12. Students in their final year who take pedagogical formation courses as elective courses in the spring semester and meet all the requirements for graduation from their enrolled program will have their graduation procedures carried out at the end of the spring semester upon request.
13. Students who meet all the requirements for graduation from their enrolled program but wish to continue taking elective courses within the scope of formation education by notifying in writing will:
- Continue to take formation elective courses in the 2022-2023 Summer School (excluding the Teaching Practice course) or the 2023-2024 fall semester.
- After successfully completing all courses within the scope of pedagogical formation (including the Teaching Practice course), their graduation procedures will be carried out at the end of the relevant semester, and the statement "Completed Pedagogical Formation Education" will be included on their diploma.
