Roles and Responsibilities within the Scope of Student Mentorship Application

Research Assistants

  1. Research assistants will carry out the tasks given under the coordination of the department head and the dean within the scope of educational mentorship.
  2. Within this scope, department heads will assign research assistants, without a limit on the number, taking into account the workload of the department, for at least 3 days a week (between 09:00 -12:00, 13:30-16:30).
  3. Research assistants will examine the requests, suggestions and complaints of the department students who apply to them during mentorship hours, fill out the mentorship form, communicate with the faculty member, student advisor teachers and department heads on the subject of the application, and provide the necessary support and information to the students.
  4. Activities and events to be held within the department will also be planned and carried out within this scope.
  5. At the end of each term, feedback from research assistants and students on mentorship activities will be evaluated by department heads, and the reports to be prepared will be sent to the dean's office.
  6. Research assistants will be able to add their work within the scope of educational mentorship to their own activity reports.
  7. Research assistants who cannot be on duty at the specified days and hours will take official leave by documenting their valid excuses.

Faculty Members

  1. Faculty members will examine the problems, suggestions and requests coming from the department research assistant mentor and carry out the necessary solutions and activities.
  2. Faculty members will plan their consultancy hours (including all faculty members with and without consultancy), provided that they do not overlap with the courses in their weekly course schedules, to be at least 4 course hours per week and they will be able to divide it into a maximum of 2 days.
  3. Faculty members will notify the department heads of the days and hours they determine and announce them on the bulletin boards on their doors.
  4. It is mandatory to physically implement the educational mentorship application during the relevant hours.
