Spring Education and Training Term Temporarily Postponed Until Further Notice

The opening of the spring education and teaching period in universities has been temporarily postponed until further notice

The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has temporarily postponed the opening of the spring education and teaching period in universities until further notice due to the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş.

The following statements were included in YÖK's announcement on the subject:

"Due to the earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023, centered in Kahramanmaraş and directly affecting 10 of our provinces;

Our students from this region who are studying in higher education institutions in other provinces will not be able to participate in education and teaching,

Some of these students' relatives have been directly affected by the disaster,

Considering that our academic and administrative staff, especially our students, in our higher education institutions are participating in search, rescue, and aid activities, the opening of the spring education and teaching period in all our higher education institutions has been temporarily postponed until further notice."
